SIP Steering Committee
Since 2007, Santa Cruz County has actively coordinated a SIP Steering Committee, who has provided oversight for the development process for the County's SIP - the system improvement plan that is regulatorily required to be locally approved and provided to the State every five years. Currently chaired by County Supervisor Kimberly De Serpa, the SIP Steering Committee has 20-plus members from partner agencies, community-based organizations, and service providers with invaluable expertise in child welfare and Juvenile Probation.

SIP Summary
SIP Steering Committee History
In 2014, the SIP Steering Committee was instrumental in collaboratively working with Santa Cruz County FCS and Juvenile Probation to assess performance on critical child welfare and probation outcomes, which resulted in the 2015‐2020 System Improvement Plan (SIP). Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the SIP Steering Committee was able to engage in the 2020-2025 SIP process.
