THE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD OF SANTA CRUZ COUNTY IS SEEKING COMMENTS ON THE DRAFT
2020 COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
The Workforce Development Board (WDB) of Santa Cruz County invites individuals, businesses, education, non-profits, and labor to comment on the proposed Santa Cruz County 2020 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). Local Santa Cruz County jurisdictions are required to have an approved CEDS plan as a pre-condition of eligibility for federal Economic Development Administration public works grants and economic adjustment grants.
While the CEDS should be consistent with existing community economic development vision and goals, the CEDS is not meant to take the place of an individual community’s economic development or plan. The CEDS covers a five-year period through 2024. The finalized CEDS is due to the Economic Development Administration by May 28, 2020.
You may review and download a copy of the Draft 2020 CEDS at www.SantaCruzWDB.com, under the “News and Events” section. Beach Street in Watsonville and the Santa Cruz County Human Services Department at 1020 Emeline Ave. in Santa Cruz.
To ensure your comments are considered, they must be received via email or U.S. Mail no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 6, 2020. Comments should be submitted via email to Andy.Stone@santacruzcounty.us, with the subject title “2020 CEDS Comments”.
