Live Scan Fingerprinting
Live Scan is the name of the fingerprinting process done for background clearances. A request form has to be first completed that is taken to the Live Scan location to be fingerprinted. Without this form we may not get your Live Scan results.
Once the form has been completed you will be given a list of locations where Live Scan is done. Present your photo ID and the form to the Live Scan office of your choice. You may need to call for an appointment. There is a fee for each set of fingerprints done. People wanting to adopt will need to get 2 sets of fingerprints for each adult. One set would be for Licensing and the other set for the Adoptions Unit.
If you are interested in fingerprinting to become a respite care provider you do not need to fill out an application but will need to bring your tuberculosis skin test results and a photo ID to our office at the time of your appointment with our clerk. Please let the clerk know you are interested in being a respite care provider and for which foster/adoptive family.
Livescan fingerprints are required for each adult living in home, having significant contact with children or providing respite care.
- If you are planning to adopt, call the licensing unit at (831) 454-4687 to have an adoption Livescan form mailed to you.
