Current IHSS Provider Enrollment

The State of California has changed requirements for IHSS providers. Current PAID providers who began working before November 2009, must complete an orientation and a backgroud check to be able to continue as an IHSS provider. The initial deadline to do this was June 30, 2010. There had been an extension for some caregivers who completed a requirement by June 30, 2010 that extends the mandatory completed date to December 31, 2010. If there is any question regarding this important process, please contact the IHSS Public Authority at (831) 454-4036.

All Requirements must be completed in order for you to be paid after December 31, 2010. Although the deadline for completion is December 31, 2010, the state and county encourage you to do this as soon as possible, as it may take several weeks to process some requirements.

Please Note: The county offices will be closed from noon December 24th through December 31st, 2010 for the holidays and furlough. Staff will not be available to complete any provider enrollment work during this time.

New IHSS Providers

New providers, who are not yet in the IHSS payroll system, are required to attend a new provider orientation and complete a background check before being paid. New providers should contact the IHSS Public Authority at (831) 454-4036 to schedule an orientation. If you sign up to care for a new IHSS recipient, a social worker will give you more information about what you need to do.
