What is the Provider Registry?
The registry is but one avenue for IHSS recipients to find an IHSS provider that has completed the provider enrollment process. The registry is operated by the Public Authority and serves Santa Cruz County's IHSS consumers
Registry Staff
- Gather information about needs and preferences of both consumer and provider applicants
- Interview references to screen the provider applicant
- Determine whether the provider applicant meets the Registry requirements
- Use computer matching to create specialized referral lists for each individual consumer
IHSS consumers or their authorized representative can call the Public Authority directly at (831) 454-4036 to request a list of potential providers. Public Authority staff will ask for detailed information (location, language, needs, work schedule and other job related needs) necessary to provide a list of three to six potential providers that best match the IHSS consumer's needs.
The consumer is the employer – NOT the Registry. IHSS consumers are responsible for interviewing, hiring and supervising the worker they chose.
